What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon hydrotherapy is a procedure where warm, purified water is gently flushed through the colon via a disposable speculum inserted into the rectum. This process aims to remove waste, toxins, and gas, improving digestive health and alleviating symptoms like bloating and constipation. It also helps accelerate metabolism, increase energy, and enhance the body's absorption of vitamins and minerals. This procedure is also known as a Colonic. In addition, at La Vie, lymphatic drainage massage is included as part of the session. This gentle, rhythmic massage technique encourages the movement of lymph fluid around. We use a closed colonic system, which means our I-ACT certified Colon Hydrologist will perform your colonic session.

Who can benefit from a colonic?

A colonic can benefit those experiencing digestive issues like constipation, diarrhea, IBS, and indigestion, as well as symptoms such as brain fog, mood swings, low energy, and intense sugar cravings. It can also support weight management, detoxification from candida or parasites, and provide relief for chronic conditions like arthritis, headaches, skin problems, and allergies. Whether for symptom relief or overall wellness, colonics help cleanse and rejuvenate the body.

Preparation For A Session:

Refrain from eating two to three hours before and limit liquids one hour prior to avoid a full bladder during the session. Also, skip diuretic foods such as coffee, tea, and soda for at least a day before your appointment.

Post Session Care:

Eat light, easily digestible foods such as steamed vegetables and lean protein like fish or tofu. Avoid nuts, salads, and cold foods/drinks immediately after the session, as the colon has been stimulated. Stay hydrated by drinking enough water. Adding 1 tbsp. of pink salt to your water can aid absorption. In the days following the session, focus on a diet rich in raw and steamed vegetables, fruits, sprouted whole grains, and pure water (not tap). These foods provide essential enzymes and fiber for optimal digestion.
